In the high deserts of the Rocky Mountains in Montana what we call the Jefferson, Madison and Gallatin Rivers merge to form the 2,300 mile Missouri River.
Here is a brief over view of an account The Incredible Journey of Moncacht Ape', an indigenous man who traveled from coast to coast, a journey to here and beyond. WAY more interesting that Lewis and Clark IMHO. In fact Jefferson gave Merriweather Lewis a book describing his trip for reference. Loved car camping and biking around up here. All the desert flowers of the season where in bloom.

We ventured on to crossed the continental divide, and follow the course of "The Beautiful River" the Columbia, until we came to the Similkameen River and crossed the Canadian border at a very remote location.
